Research method

Hypothesis-driven, modular and bounded.

NYXA develops consciousness-like AI state processing through isolated modules, tests and staged integration.

1. Isolate

Each state-processing function is first implemented as a separate deterministic module.

2. Test

Each module receives targeted tests before entering the broader suite.

3. Integrate

Only after freeze documentation does a module become eligible for controlled core integration.

Research assumptions

NYXA assumes that certain aspects of reflective processing can be modeled as state transitions, without requiring a claim that the system is conscious. The architecture focuses on the functional behavior of regulation, distinction, holding, comparison, exploration and response form.

Methodological boundary

The project distinguishes between simulation, operationalization and metaphysical claims. NYXA can simulate selected consciousness-like state dynamics. It does not claim subjective experience.

Evaluation approach

Evaluation currently focuses on deterministic behavior, no-leak boundaries, non-persistence guarantees, test coverage, runtime stability and the ability to maintain epistemic distinctions such as opinion, perspective, hypothesis and working truth.
